What is “AI formatting”?+
People often mean Markdown headings, bold markers, bullet lists, repeated blank lines, or punctuation copied from an AI chat. These are ordinary formatting conventions, not reliable evidence that text was written by AI.
Does cleaning remove an AI watermark?+
This tool removes visible formatting and selected invisible copy-and-paste characters. It does not claim to remove statistical watermarks or make a text undetectable.
Will Markdown and HTML be converted to plain text?+
Plain text mode can remove common Markdown markers and HTML tags while retaining the readable content. Complex tables, embedded media, and unusual markup may need manual review.
Is text sent to a server?+
The cleaning operation runs locally in your browser. Using an AI rewrite or external detector is a separate action that sends the submitted text to the configured service.
Is this suitable for code?+
Whitespace and punctuation can be meaningful in code. Keep a copy of the original, use minimal cleanup, and verify the result. Do not use prose-focused plain text conversion as a source-code formatter.
